Sacred Heart School Building in 1923
“Let it be known to all who enter here, that Christ is the reason for this school, the unseen but ever present Teacher in our classes, the model of our faculty, the inspiration of our students.”

For over 120 years, Sacred Heart School has helped students achieve educational and spiritual success through a tradition of faith, family and academic excellence.

Sacred Heart School of New Britain, Connecticut, is a Pre-K to 8th grade Catholic School in the Archdiocese of Hartford. SHS instills traditional Catholic and family values in a safe, secure, and family oriented environment. Our students are further enriched through a wide variety of extra curricular activities, differential instruction, and before and after school childcare.

Veterans Day Commemoration

Never too young to learn about and pray for our Veterans. This is just how students and teachers of Sacred Heart School observed this special day, commemorating the brave and courageous men and women who so faithfully served to protect our freedom. Special thanks to Ms. Diane Kulinski and her 5th & 6th grade class for preparing a wonderful tribute to our veterans.

Harvest Hoopla

Halloween came a little early this year with everyone wearing their “mask”. But Covid 19 didn’t dampen the spirit of our Sacred Heart School family as can be seen by the photos from the Harvest Hoopla celebration which took place on October 29th. Lots of treats, games and a great time with classmates and friends. Special thanks to our Student Council Officers and Mrs. Muller for organizing the event and putting time and effort into making it such a success!

Pastor Appreciation Day

“Feet apart but close at heart!” These were the sentiments as students and faculty gathered at Sacred Heart School to welcome their pastor, Monsignor Daniel Plocharczyk (Monsignor Dan) and offer greetings, well wishes and prayers in recognition of “Pastor Appreciation Day” on October 11th. Students from grades Pre K through 8 made cards and posters to express their gratitude for all Monsignor Dan does for the school in his role as pastor and shepherd. No celebration would be complete without the traditional Polish greeting song, Sto Lat, to wish Monsignor many more years of health, happiness and holiness.

Student Council Elections

Our national government and candidates running for political office could take an example from our young people running for Student Council. Student Council elections were recently held at Sacred Heart School and members of the school family came out in force to support their favorite candidates. Those running for each particular office shared applause and best wishes to each of their opponents after their speech was given. Social distancing was kind of nice as it provided a “picnic-like” atmosphere on such a beautiful day. Students returned to their classes to cast their ballots and the results were quickly sent to the office. Congratulations are in order to ALL the candidates for creative posters, a well prepared speech and an articulate presentation. Results: President: Nicholas Ebrahimi - Vice President: Veronica Dropa Secretary: Joanna Jarombek
